Spinning About

This is another one of my yarns, where I just threw fiber on the drum carder at random. I really cant tell you the percentages of fibers. But I can tell you wants in there. Romney, camel, merino, firestar, cotton (call my crazy) Lincoln Long wool. Alpaca, Llama, and mohair locks. I think thats everything. It was a total party on the carder. And was BEAUTIFUL! I cant wait to ply this and use it for something. 

Look at just how different Romney locks can be from different sheep. But look at the length of the fiber! I love it! These are unwashed Romney locks, I have been working on washing them up. 

This is an oversized cowl that I made myself. It is tunisian crocheted. I like to wear it like a shrug, or doubled over around my neck. But then I discovered it fits over me and Tempe while she is in the ergo! And since its mohair it is WARM. So we were nice and cozy, while shopping for wood for the bookcases my hubby is building me! I love when my projects are multi functional! 

Theres Orreck right outside my back door being gorgeous. 

This WIP single is Angora, Romney, Firestar, Alpaca, Mohair. You name it I kind of just tossed it in. I was spinning angora from Orreck but I wanted to liven it up a bit. So I tossed in some neon green romney I dyed, and then I saw the bright purple firestar… Pale pink alpaca, and pretty green and purple mohair locks. I really just played around. This is the first REAL spinning Ive done since having Tempe, she really doesnt let me spin often. But my wonderful hubby took her for a little while and I got to fall in love with my lendrum again.
